The villa is situated in the beautiful, traditional village of Tourbes, with all the necessary amenities; grocery shop, tobacconists/newsagent, restaurants, café, bar, wine cave, butcher and chemist.


The village is very quiet seeing very little traffic, except the odd tractor!

There is a small market on a Wednesday including a fishmonger and greengrocer.

Wine Cave: The award-winning cave (Gold medal in Paris) is open for wine tasting in the week and Saturdays until midday. It sells local wines either on draft or by the bottle.

The restaurant ‘La table’ is situated in grounds of the wine cave. It has indoor and 3 additional outdoor areas. Food is cooked on an open fire. There is lots of space for children to explore the area around the cave/restaurant. This is where the locals eat.

The restaurant ‘La Masion’ is open lunch times and evenings. All food is cooked on a open fire in the restaurant, there is an outside courtyard with tables.

Basket ball court and tennis courts are in a park approximately 300m from the villa

A children's playground is situated in the park behind the church. There is space for riding bikes or playing ball games, boules court etc.

The Church of St. Saturnin de Tourbes, was first mention by name in a charter dated 990 AD. the existing church is a Gothic monument from the 12 & 13 centuries.

The original village was contained by a heavy wall which has gradually disappeared, the main phase of demolition being around 1830.
